This week we welcome Rae-Lynn Barden, Communications Director of Volunteers of America Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.
The organization just opened a brand new Hope House, which not only tripled the number of shelter beds it offers to women to 100 — tripling the shelter’s previous capacity — but it added 60 units of new permanent supportive housing that’s open to anyone regardless of their gender identity.
It was an opportunity to talk about the crisis we’re facing and the expanding role VOA is taking to support teens, women and the rest of our houseless neighbors.
